We’re hosting Thanksgiving this year for the first time. It was decided just a few days ago and I’m so excited! (Here’s why Thanksgiving is one of my favourite holidays, even as a Brit.) I thought I’d share what we’re thinking of serving. Please share in the comments what you’re making – or looking forward to eating – so we can all be inspired and share ideas!

Turkey
Cranberry sauce with orange zest and fresh nutmeg
Classic stuffing (though this cornbread sausage stuffing looks delicious)
Gravy
Perfect roast potatoes
Mashed maple sweet potatoes
Roasted carrots
Green beans with almonds and thyme
Warm bread rolls

Fruit cobbler
Chocolate pecan pie

have a sandwich

It’s not Thanksgiving anymore. I’m still in England. You have a massive amount of leftover turkey sitting in your kitchen. These are all probable truths.

You know what I’d do? I’d make a sandwich. Here are some stellar leftover turkey sandwich ideas from the webs. Get your face round one of them. It’ll be mega.

Turkey Cobb Sandwich

Barbecue Pulled-Turkey Sandwiches

Monte Cristo Sandwich

Turkey, Cheddar, and Green Apple Sandwich

Panes con Pavo (Salvadoran Turkey Sandwich)

Quesadillas with Chutney and Brie

Turkey and Cranberry Chutney Sandwich

p.s. My personal favourite simple combo = turkey, cold stuffing, cranberry sauce in between two slices. Chomp.

Still hungry? Have some cake.

As you’re reading this I should be in lovely England, hanging out with my husband, sister, brother, parents, and all manner of other lovely folks. We’re sad to be missing Thanksgiving tomorrow but obviously pretty chuffed to be in the U.K.

I hope your day is full of pie. That is all.

p.s. My first ever Thanksgiving.
